DESCRIPTION:We are proud to announce that the 1st Mermaiding Nationals Slovenia 2026 will take place on October 17\, 2026\, at Kopališče Pristan in Maribor. \nThe championship is organized by Institute ARABELLA\, mermaid academy Slovenja vas\, led by its founder Barbara Petek\, an experienced international mermaiding judge who served at the Official Mermaiding Championships in Germany in 2019 and 2025. \nDriven by a shared passion for the sea and the art of mermaiding\, Barbara brought together an inspiring team of mermaiding instructors — Taja Albolena and Taja Kovačič. Together\, they are dedicated to spreading the magic of mermaiding through mermaid courses\, performances\, and competitions. This year\, they decided it was time to organize the first mermaiding competition in Slovenia and uniting mermaids from across the country. This championship aims to elevate mermaiding as both a competitive sport and a creative aquatic art form\, while creating a space for mermaids and mermen to connect\, form lasting friendships\, challenge themselves\, and create truly mermazing memories that will last a lifetime. The top individual athletes and the best team will earn qualification for the International Official Mermaiding Championship 2027 in Germany\, opening the door to the international stage. Participants must tow the victim using an underarm grip with their Hands. The rescuer’s arms must be extended\, and the victim’s face must remain above water.  If the victim is wearing a mask\, it must be removed from their nose upon arrival. \nKids: ​​10 meters freedive\, take a breath\, and swim in a breaststroke approximately 5 meters\, dive down to the victim\, bring the victim up\, then tow for 15 meters. DESCRIPTION:Mermaiding National Championships Switzerland and Open Contest 2026 We are delighted to announce the Mermaiding National Championships Switzerland 2026 will take place at Sports Resort in Fiesch. As Swiss team\, we all have one thing in common : our passion in mermaiding and our motivation to make a competition accessible to young and adult athletes\, from Switzerland. Continuing promoting the special art and sport of Mermaiding in the country and internationaly. Futhermore\, to enable mermaids and mermen to get together\, make friends\, compete\, work as teams and create “mer-memories” that will last forever. This event\, well recognised within the competitive mermaiding community\, will bring together Swiss athletes for two days of competition\, exchange and aquatic passion. The best Individual Athletes and the best Team will qualify to the “International Official Mermaiding Championships 2027” \n2026 we will also have an open Contest. International mermaiding schools may apply only if there are remaining spots\, with a maximum of six athletes per school. Each group must be accompanied by one coach\, who also serves as the school’s official representative. \nInternational athletes must hold valid diving insurance. \nThey cannot be selected for the Official Mermaiding Championships. By applying\, they acknowledge that their participation is solely for training purposes and not for selection. En route vers les Championnats Internationaux 2027 \nLes meilleurs athlètes et équipes seront sélectionnés pour représenter la France lors des Championnats Internationaux de Mermaiding 2027. \nAge conditions Kids : 8–10 years old  Teens : 11–13 years old  Juniors : 14–16 years old  Adults: 17 and over Championnats Nationaux avec Qualification1* Sauvetage\nExigences:\nLa distance spécifiée doit être parcourue en style apnée sirène. La victime doit être remontée depuis la profondeur puis remorquée sur la distance indiquée. Après l’apnée initiale\, il est autorisé de reprendre une respiration en surface avant de replonger vers la victime. \nLes participant·e·s doivent remorquer la victime en utilisant une prise sous les aisselles\, avec les mains. Les bras du sauveteur doivent rester tendus\, et le visage de la victime doit rester hors de l’eau. Si la victime porte un masque\, celui-ci doit être retiré de son nez à l’arrivée. \nDistances selon les catégories: \n•  Enfants: 10 mètres en apnée\, reprise de respiration\, puis nage en brasse sur environ 5 mètres\, plongée vers la victime\, remontée\, puis remorquage sur 15 mètres. \n•  Jeunes: 15 mètres en apnée + 25 mètres de remorquage. \n•  Juniors: 25 mètres en apnée + 25 mètres de remorquage. \n•  Adultes: 30 mètres en apnée + 30 mètres de remorquage. \n2* Rallye\nExigences:\nVous devez nager avec une monopalme équipée d’une housse. Après les 25 premiers mètres\, la housse doit être tirée vers le bas jusqu’à la cheville aussi rapidement que possible.\nUn pied doit être libéré de la monopalme. Sicbaldi a Terramaini\, Cagliari!  Un evento unico nel suo genere\, dove sirene e tritoni da tutta Italia si sfideranno in una gara all’insegna di sport\, spettacolo e passione acquatica. Un sogno che continua a crescere Da anni la nostra associazione promuove il Mermaiding sportivo a livello nazionale\, con l’obiettivo di: ✔️ Far conoscere e affermare questa disciplina in tutta Italia   ✔️ Unire atleti di ogni età e provenienza   ✔️ Costruire una vera community di Mermaiding agonistico e artistico   ✔️ Portare il Mermaiding italiano sulla scena internazionale ✔️ Sport\, legami e magia Questa competizione non è solo una gara: è un’occasione per conoscersi\, creare amicizie durature\, collaborare come squadra e ispirarsi a un mondo magico fatto di eleganza\, forza e libertà sott’acqua. Verso i Campionati Internazionali 2027 Gli atleti e le squadre migliori otterranno l’accesso diretto ai Campionati Internazionali Ufficiali di Mermaiding 2027. Inoltre\, scuole e atleti internazionali potranno candidarsi per partecipare all’edizione 2026 in Italia (posti limitati e massimo 6 atleti per scuola).   Ogni team estero dovrà essere accompagnato da un allenatore e coperto da assicurazione subacquea valida. Presentando la domanda\, riconoscono che la loro partecipazione è esclusivamente a scopo di allenamento e non di selezione. La “vittima” deve essere recuperata dal fondo e trainata alla distanza richiesta. A seguito della parte in immersione è consentito prendere un respiro prima della discesa verso la vittima. Il traino deve avvenire con presa sotto l’ascella\, braccia estese e il viso della vittima fuori dall’acqua. Se la vittima indossa una maschera\, questa deve essere rimossa dal volto appena si raggiunge la superficie\, prima o mentre si inizia il trasporto. \nDistanze: \nBambini: 10 m apnea + 15 m traino Giovani: 15 m apnea + 25 m traino Junior: 25 m apnea + 25 m traino Adulti: 30 m apnea + 30 m traino \n2* Corsia/ Ralley \n25 m stile rana + 25 m con un piede nella monopinna \nÈ obbligatorio nuotare con una monopinna con copertura. Dopo i primi 25 metri la copertura deve essere abbassata fino alla caviglia il più velocemente possibile. Un piede deve essere tolto dalla monopinna. Per sfilare il piede non ci si può appoggiare al muro/bordo della piscina. Subito dopo\, si torna indietro nuotando il più velocemente possibile con un piede dentro e uno fuori la monopinna. Il cronometro viene fermato quando una mano tocca il bordo della piscina. Lo stile di nuoto per il ritorno è scelto liberamente. Tutti i partecipanti iniziano e viene registrato il tempo di ognuno\, che farà parte del conto finale per il punteggio individuale. Solo i due tempi migliori verranno calcolati per il punteggio della squadra. \n3* Prova di Velocità / Speed Challenge\nI partecipanti nuotano sulla superficie dell’acqua con le braccia davanti alla testa il più velocemente possibile \nDistanze: \n• Bambini: 15 m • Giovani: 25 m • Junior: 25 m • Adulti: 50 m \n4* davanti al poster/ Photo Challenge Piscina per le immersioni di 2 metri di profindità individuale \nOgni partecipante può effettuare fino a due immersioni per ottenere la posa migliore. \n• La posa deve essere eseguita in sospensione\, centrata davanti al poster. •Gli occhi devono essere aperti\, il viso libero e rilassato. • È consentito posare con o senza maschera. • Posare con maschera comporta una detrazione di punti. • Il tappanaso non è consentito. \nCriteri: La migliore posa sarà selezionata dal fotografo subacqueo e dalla giuria. \n5* Performance Individuale\nTutte le età – corsia 2 metri di profondità \n6 stili di nuoto predeterminati: \n• Galleggiamento supino • Capovolta in avanti duck dive + 1 onda prima e 2 dopo • Capovolta all’indietro con 1\,5 rotazione + onda sulla schiena e onda in avanti spiegazione: duck dive (eseguito correttamente /90°)\, onda in avanti\, onda con mezza rotazione\, 1\,5 copovolta s all’indietro\, onda in avanti • Fishkick (posizione laterale\, 3 onde) • Rotazione laterale con un’onda prima e una dopo • Verticale (galleggiando sott’acqua\, la coda deve essere completamente immersa) \nDurante la performance è vietato toccare il fondo e i bordi della piscina. La performance si terrà in una piscina di 2 metri di profondità. Ci dovrà essere una sequenza di questi stili di nuoto specificati. I giudici saranno sia dentro che fuori dall’acqua per vedere le perfomance sia in live sia in live stream. è possibile effettuare un massimo di 6 immersioni entro 5 minuti di tempo. indossare la maschera è opzionale per le categorie dei bambini\, giovani e junior. Per gli adulti\, indossare la maschera\, comporterà una detrazione di punti. \n6* Performance Sincronizzate / Team\nLa performance si terrà nella piscina sportiva di 2 metri di profondità \n5 discipline predeterminate: \n1. Immersione fianco a fianco (DuckDive eseguito correttamente/90°) 2. Onda sirena (minimo 3 onde) 3. Capovolta in avanti in simultanea (può essere in superficie o sott’acqua) 4. Neoprenumfasste Flossen mit Schnürsenkel oder Klett. \nDie schnellste Zeit wird gezählt. \n4* Rettungsschwimmen\nAnforderungen: \nDie angegebene Strecke muss im Mermaid-Freedive Stil getaucht werden. Das Opfer muss aus der Tiefe hochgeholt und die angegebene Strecke abgeschleppt werden. Es darf nach dem Freediven Luft geholt und zum Opfer getaucht werden. \nTeilnehmer schleppt im Achselschleppgriff das Opfer ab. Die Arme des Rettenden müssen lang sein und das Gesicht des Opferns muss über Wasser bleiben. Nebeneinander zusammen abtauchen (DuckDive Technik 90° Ausführung)\n2. Mermaid Welle (mind.3 Mermaid Wellen)\n3. Gleichzeitig Rolle vorwärts\n4. Rückenschwimmen mit gemeinsamer Rolle rückwärts\n5. Angel Dive \nEs soll eine Abfolge dieser vorgegebenen Schwimmstile erfolgen.\nmax. 5-mal abtauchen/ Zeitlimit 4 min. \nMaske tragen ist in der Altersklasse Kindern und Jugendlichen freigestellt. Maske bei Erwachsenen führt zu Punktabzug. \nPunkte Bewertung je nach Ausführung. \nExtrakategorie1* Handstand Drehen im Springerbecken \nAnforderungen: \nHandstand Spin im Springerbecken \ndie meisten vertikalen Drehungen werden gezählt; Die Flosse muss unter der Wasseroberfläche sein. Wenn der Teilnehmer den Beckenboden oder den Beckenrand berührt wird die Zählung gestoppt. Die Teilnehmer müssen mindestens 8 Jahre alt sein\, und Minderjährige müssen von einem Elternteil oder Erziehungsberechtigten begleitet werden. \n\nVerfügbarkeit der Teilnehmerplätze geht nach dem Prinzip „Wer zuerst kommt\, mahlt zuerst“. \n\nSollte die maximale Teilnehmer Anzahl erreicht sein wird die Anmeldung geschlossen \nMaterial \nDie Athleten bringen ihr eigenes Kostüm und Monoflosse für den Wettbewerb mit. \n\nAus Sicherheitsgründen muss die Monoflosse von einer bekannten Marke sein. Die Monoflosse muss separate Fußtaschen haben.\nAußerdem muss es sich um eine Monoflosse in Flossenform handeln\, sonst wird sie nicht akzeptiert. \nBeispiele: Mertailor\, Mng Fins\, SWEAM-Familie\, Mermaid Linden\, Aquamermaid\, Mahina\, Waterway Mermaid\, usw.\nFlossen von Webseiten wie Alibaba\, Aliexpress oder Wish sowie Neopren Überzogenen Flossen zum reinschlüpfen\, mit Schnürsenkel oder Klettverschluss werden aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht akzeptiert. \n\nJeder Teilnehmer bringt sein eigenes Equipent zur Veranstaltung mit. Es ist aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht erlaubt sein Equipment anderen Teilnehmern für die Mermaiding Nationals Germany bereit zu stellen. \n\nFlossen können für den Wettbewerb auch vom EC-Diving-Club Ingolstadt  je nach Verfügbarkeit geliehen werden. Kosten pro Flosse\nmit Überzug 80€ \n\nVerwendete Requisiten und Ausrüstungsgegenstände werden vorher kontrolliert \n\nGlitzer\, und spitze Gegenstände sind nicht erlaubt. Es wird eine Prüfung des Equipments vor Beginn des Events geben.\nEine Teilnahme in einer Vollsilikonflosse (Body und Fluke) ist für die Fotochallenge Kategorie erlaubt. \n\nGewichte sind in jeglicher Art am Körper und Flosse sowie im und am Mermaid Überzug nicht erlaubt! \nAnmeldung / Registrierung\nDer Veranstalter öffnet die Registrierung spätestens 6 Monate vor dem Wettbewerbsdatum. The victim must be brought up from the depth and towed the specified distance. After freediving\, it is permitted to take a breath and dive down to the victim. Participants must tow the victim using an underarm grip with their Hands. The rescuer’s arms must be extended\, and the victim’s face must remain above water.  If the victim is wearing a mask\, it must be removed from their nose upon arrival. \nKids: ​​10 meters freedive\, take a breath\, and swim in a breaststroke approximately 5 meters\, dive down to the victim\, bring the victim up\, then tow for 15 meters. Youth: ​​15 meters freedive & 25 meters tow Juniors:​ ​25 meters freedive & 25 meters tow Adults: ​​30 meters freedive & 30 meters tow 2* Ralley \nRequirements: You must swim with a monofin with a cover. After swimming the first 25 meters\, the cover must be pulled down to the ankle as quickly as possible. One foot must be freed from the monofin. Remove the foot without touching the Wall / edge of the pool. After the foot is freed\, you swim back as fast as possible with one foot still in the fin. The time stops when a Hand touches the pool edge.  The swimming style for the return swim can be chosen freely. \n3* Speed Challenge Requirements: Participants swim on the water’s surface with their arms in front of their heads as fast as possible. Children: 15 meters / Youth: 25 meters /Juniors: 25 meters/ Adults: 50 meters 4* Photo Challenge Requirements: \nEach participant can dive up to 2 times for the best pose. \n*The pose must take place floating\, centered in front of the poster. *The eyes should be open\, and the face should be free and relaxed \nDiving can be done with or without a mask. *Diving and posing with a mask will result in point deduction. Nose clips are not allowed. \n5* Performance Individual Requirements: 6 Predetermined swimming styles:  * Back floating  * Forward roll/ Front Flip in conjunction with a DuckDive Mermaid Wave before and two waves after  * Backward roll/ Backflip 1\,5 turn: roll in conjunction with a backward wave before and a mermaid wave forward explanation (Duck Dive (Proper Duck Dive Technique / 90°)\, forward wave\, wave half turn\, 1\,5 roll backward\, mermaid wave forward) * Fishkick (side position\, 3 waves) * Sideroll / Sidespin in conjunction with a mermaid wave before and after  * Handstand (floating underwater\, Mermaidtail must be under water) 6* Synchronized Performance / Team Requirements: 5 predetermined disciplines:  1. dive side by side (DuckDive)Proper Duck Dive Technique / 90° 2. Angel Dive 7* Extra Challenge Requirements: \nHandstand Turning in Deep Pool Most vertical rotations are counted 10 Extra points for the participant with the most spins \nFAQIn April and after the deadline of May 31st\, we will organise an online meeting (via Zoom or similar) in a Q&A format to answer all your questions about the national and international competitions. \nThe final competition programme – including schedules\, challenges\, and start times – will be communicated one month before the event. Participants must be at least 8 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \n\nParticipant places are allocated on a “first come\, first served” basis.\nRegistration will close once the maximum number of participants has been reached.Materials \nEach participant must bring their own equipment to the event. For safety reasons\, lending equipment to other participants is not permitted. \n\nFor safety reasons\, the monofin must be from a recognised brand. It must be a mermaid-shaped monofin; otherwise\, it will not be accepted. Examples include: Mertailor\, MNG Fins\, SWEAM\, Mermaid Linden\, Aquamermaid\, Mahina\, Waterway Mermaid Shape\, Sundials\, and Kuaki. \n\nMonofins from websites such as Alibaba\, AliExpress\, Wish\, or similar\, as well as fins covered in neoprene that must be closed with Velcro fasteners or shoelaces\, will not be accepted for safety reasons. \n\nProps and equipment will be inspected beforehand. Glitter and sharp objects are not allowed. \n\nA full silicone tail may be used and is accepted for the Photo Challenge only. \n\nNo weights are allowed in competition. \n\nThe use of oxygen before or during the event is not permitted. Any form of doping is prohibited.
