We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we will be hosting the National Mermaiding Championships for the UK & Northern Europe on:

1st November 2026
BCP Poole Dolphin Leisure Centre, Poole, Dorset

This prestigious event will be organised by Michelle Forsbrey, founder of UK Mermaid Academy (Mayim).

Michelle previously hosted the Merlympics in 2018 and brings a wealth of experience as an international mermaid judge, coach, and academy owner. Having judged at the Merlympics in Germany 2025 — an incredible event welcoming over 100 competitors from 15 nations — she understands the scale, professionalism and excitement required to deliver a truly exceptional championship.

Joining her is Rachael Potter, who achieved an outstanding 5th place overall at the Merlympics 2025 & will be competing in the Nationals this year, and Laura Louise Hudson, Mermaid Performer, mermaid and freedive trainer, Miss Ocean UK 2023 & Miss Ocean earth 2026.

Together, they are committed to delivering an inspiring, safe and internationally recognised competition for mermaids across the UK and Northern Europe.

This is an exciting opportunity for the UK to host a recognised international-level event, and we warmly invite competitors from Northern Europe to take part — continuing to grow and celebrate the sport and art of Mermaiding.

The top three competitors in each category will earn the incredible opportunity to compete at the Official International Mermaiding Championships in 2027.

This is your chance to:

• Showcase your mermaid skills
• Build confidence through dedicated training
• Connect with fellow mermaids
• Create unforgettable memories
• Shine on a national stage

Spaces are limited due to venue capacity at Poole Dolphin Leisure Centre, so we strongly encourage early registration to avoid disappointment.

Training & Preparation:
In addition to training with your own clubs and teams, we will also be offering dedicated training sessions to help you prepare. Dates will be announced on our social media channels in the coming weeks.

“”Train like a Mermaid, Splash with Confidence.Have Fun & Sparkle your way to the Mermaiding Nationals.””
